A Builder’s Risk Policy is designed for residential or commercial buildings in the course of construction or renovation and remodeling. The policy also covers theft of building material on the site and in transit. This coverage may be issued to an owner, contractor or developer. The limit of insurance you should carry is based on the full value of the building when it is completed. The policy premium is calculated based on the length of the project, and the premium will level out so that you pay only for the amount of coverage needed at any point during the life of the construction project. If the project is not completed by the expiring term of the policy, we will acquire additional time to cover the project until the building is complete or put to its intended use.
